The Westlake Autonomous Intelligence Lab (Autolab) was established in August 2023 by Dr. Kaicheng Yu, a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the School of Engineering, Westlake University. The lab is committed to constructing the next-generation autonomous intelligent systems with data-driven world models at their core.

Within this framework, the lab strategically focuses on two major research directions: AI4Reality centers on scenario construction and data closed-loop in the domains of embodied intelligence and autonomous driving, thereby propelling the development of general cognitive embodied systems. Meanwhile, AI4Virtual conducts explorations in knowledge-driven scientific intelligence, offering innovative impetus for interdisciplinary research in fields such as chemistry and biomedicine.

Rooted in these cutting-edge research areas, the research team has been conducting in-depth research in automatic machine learning, 3D perception, 3D data simulation and reconstruction, as well as autonomous driving for several years. The core members have not only taken the lead in or participated in multiple national-level projects but also assembled a core echelon composed of 1 specially-appointed researcher (PI), 8 doctoral students, 2 master's students, and 2 assistant researchers. Moreover, the lab continuously welcomes applications from postdoctoral fellows, visiting students/personnel, and interns, fostering an innovative ecosystem characterized by high-efficiency collaboration.

For the latest research progress and developments of the lab, please follow our official WeChat public account and Rednote account 【Westlake Autolab】.
